Impetus
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Impetus ("we," "us") is an AI coaching app that helps people with ADHD start and finish tasks. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Impetus is a product of CTF Designs.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address to create and secure your account.
- Content you create. The messages you send the coach, and the tasks, notes, and focus sessions that come out of those conversations.
- Google account data (only if you connect it). If you choose to connect Google, and only then, Impetus can read your Gmail and Google Calendar to help you with a request you make in the app (for example, "find that email from my landlord and draft a reply," or "what's on my calendar this week"). This is read-only. Impetus can prepare a draft email for you to review and send yourself; Impetus never sends email on your behalf.
- Usage data. Basic, privacy-respecting analytics (for example, that a task was completed) to improve the app. We do not sell this.
How we use your information
- To provide the coaching experience: understand your request, plan your tasks, estimate how long things take, and complete the specific action you asked for.
- To generate responses, your messages and the relevant context are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), which processes them to produce a reply. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
- To operate, secure, and improve the app.
Google user data — Limited Use disclosure
Impetus's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only access your Google data to provide user-facing features you request inside the app.
- We fetch the minimum data needed to answer your request, use it to generate that response, and do not retain or persist your Gmail content beyond what is needed to complete the request.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising.
- We do not sell Google user data, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the service (our AI provider), for security, or to comply with the law.
- We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI or machine-learning models. No human at Impetus reads your Google data except with your explicit consent, for security, or where required by law.
How your information is stored and retained
- Your account, tasks, notes, and chat history are stored securely with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) and protected by per-user access controls.
- Gmail and Calendar content is fetched to fulfill a request and is not stored in our database after the response is generated.
- You can delete your tasks and data in the app at any time. To delete your entire account and associated data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that make the app work (our AI provider for generating responses, and our hosting/database provider for storage), each bound to protect it. We may disclose information if required by law.
Mobile data
Information collected on your mobile device is never shared with or sold to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Children
Impetus is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to withdraw consent (for example, by disconnecting Google in the app). Contact us to exercise these rights.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
