Welcome to Impetus, an AI coaching app and a product of CTF Designs. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
What Impetus is (and isn't)
Impetus is an AI-based software tool that helps you start and organize tasks. It is a computer program, not a person. Impetus is not a doctor, therapist, psychologist, counselor, or any kind of medical or mental-health professional, and it is not a medical device. Nothing Impetus says is medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, or financial advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care for ADHD or any other condition. Do not rely on Impetus in place of a qualified professional. If you are struggling with your mental health, please talk to a licensed professional. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services now, or in the US call 911, or call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use Impetus. Keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
AI-generated content
Impetus uses AI to generate responses, suggestions, drafts, and time estimates. To do this, the messages you send and the relevant context from your account (such as your tasks, notes, and any email or calendar content you ask Impetus to work with) are transmitted securely to our third-party AI provider, which processes them to produce a reply. We describe this further in our Privacy Policy. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. Review anything before acting on it — especially drafts prepared from your email. You are responsible for reviewing and sending your own communications; Impetus never sends email on your behalf.
Energy feature
Impetus includes an optional Energy feature that infers your current energy from your conversations and adjusts its suggestions and reminders accordingly. It is off by default; you must turn it on and acknowledge that it is not medical advice before it operates. When on, it may send you reminder notifications and offer general, publicly available wellbeing suggestions (for example drinking water, eating a snack or meal, or taking a break). These suggestions are not medical, nutritional, or mental-health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not a substitute for a licensed professional. Impetus does not recommend drugs, medication, supplements, or anything unsafe. You can turn the feature off at any time in Settings. Full details are on our Energy meter page.
Connected accounts
If you connect Google, you authorize Impetus to access your data as described in our Privacy Policy to provide the features you request. You can disconnect at any time.
Acceptable use
- Don't use Impetus for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive.
- Don't attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or misuse the service.
- Don't use it to violate anyone else's rights or privacy.
Subscriptions
The core of Impetus is free. Optional paid features ("Impetus Plus") may be offered as a subscription billed through the App Store or Google Play, which handle payment, renewal, and cancellation under their terms. Prices and features may change with notice.
Disclaimers and liability
Impetus is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CTF Designs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on AI output.
Termination
You can stop using Impetus and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are violated.
Changes
We may update these Terms and will revise the date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.
